Our programs are designed to help you face the ever increasing complexities of living in the modern world.

Outpatient Therapy
Many issues today can be sorted out with the help of a trained professional.
Outpatient therapy, or counseling as it is often called, is typically where a person meets with a therapist once each week for less than an hour. The number of sessions depends on the needs of the person. The therapist supports the person as he/she addresses such goals as positive behavior change, symptom reduction, and improved self-esteem.

Substance Abuse Treatment
Drug and alcohol abuse is often an escape for anyone who already is encountering difficulties in life. Our treatment professionals meet individually and in groups with children, teens, and adults and support them as they develop healthier ways to cope. Group sessions are typically held weekly for ten weeks and provide the opportunity for peer support and most importantly, the knowledge that you are not alone as you work to overcome addictive behaviors.

Smoke Free Cass County
The list of health problems caused by smoking seems to grow more and more. Heart disease, lung cancer, and stroke are just a few of the tragic results from tobacco use. Smoke Free Cass County offers free classes to help people of any age kick the habit.

Home Based
Working with children and teens in the home and at schools, our Home Based Case Managers are role models, guides, and committed to the highest quality of care. Young people in this program often have many obstacles to overcome.

Miami County Wrap-Around
MCWA is a program of individualized care for families that is based on the strengths of the family, not their shortcomings. Staff assist families as they identify resources to improve overall self reliance and healthy relationship skills.

The Role of Family Members

Families are essential partners in the treatment programs for people with mental illness. Family members who can help include:

Families often provide the essential help for their loved ones, including:

Families want to care for their loved one with mental illness. But they usually become primary caregivers with little education about mental illness, and are not equipped to cope with it. Symptoms of mental illness can upset family members, especially when they happen without warning. Even when there are not problems, living with a family member who has a mental illness can be stressful.

Family members must learn all they can about the illness. They should be included in planning the treatment program. Some family members believe that the doctor or therapist knows best and that they don't need to get involved. However, you can support and enhance the treatment your loved one receives when you stay informed and involved. You will be empowered and so will your loved one.
