Mental health services at 4CCC are available to children, adults, couples and families from throughout Indiana, although most of our clients reside in Cass, Fulton, Miami, and Pulaski Counties.
Anyone may call 4CCC’s main office at 800-552-3106 to talk with a receptionist who can help schedule an appointment.
Although many people who come to 4CCC are referred by clergy, physicians, or other professionals, such a referral is not necessary. Just call 4CCC directly to make an appointment, 800-552-3106
Counselors are assigned based on several factors. Some counselors specialize in working with children, families, or particular problems. Sometimes office location is an important factor or access to health insurance. Schedule availability may also affect which counselor you see.
If someone has a particular desire to see a certain therapist, that preference can usually be honored.
No, quit the opposite. It means you are wise enough to take care of your health. How you feel mentally affects every part of your life. Poor mental health can contribute to a number of physical ailments, including heart disease and stroke. For too long there has been a stigma attached to seeking mental health treatment. Thankfully modern living has brought about an acceptance and even encouragement of taking care of your mental and emotional needs.
Much like people being admitted to a hospital when there are concerns about their health, a person may be admitted to our inpatient unit for care of his or her mental health needs. Who is admitted to our unit? People who are a danger to themselves or others or those who are not capable of taking care of their own basic needs.
Clients determine who may visit them while they are admitted to the inpatient unit. Visitors must be over the age of 16.
Our visiting hours are:
Items that can be given to a person admitted to our unit are limited due to our need to protect and care for not only the person you are visiting, but everyone who is receiving inpatient care. A visitor is allowed to bring three days of clothing for a client. All items are subject to inspection.
Why such rules? If you remember why a person is admitted to the unit – because they are considered dangerous to themselves or others or are unable to take care of their own basic needs – you’ll understand why these are some of the items that are not allowed:
Often times your show of support and caring is all the gift that anyone needs.
The fee varies based on the program you participate in and your household income. We have a sliding fee scale called our Fair Share Plan and do our best to work with people to make treatment affordable. We do not want someone to fail to get needed treatment because of cost. Our business office staff are happy to answer any of your billing questions.
Please feel free to call 800-552-3106, ext. 297.
Yes, these types of health coverage are applicable in many cases and we will file for payment directly, if you wish, or as required by the coverage provider. Sometimes insurance imposes limitations about which therapist can be seen or how many sessions are allowed. You will be notified accordingly.
If a person cannot afford to pay full fee, the fee can be lowered according to the adjusted fee guidelines and using our Fair Share Plan.
If clients have a religious faith, then that resource is ordinarily incorporated into the counseling process. 4CCC regularly works with people of many faiths and also works respectfully with people who have no religious faith. Religion is not imposed on any client, but is instead drawn upon as a resource when appropriate.
4CCC can provide premarital counseling for couples who wish to start their marriages on the best possible footing.
4CCC affirms the importance of keeping commitments and the value of family stability for children and adults. Some couples who come to 4CCC seeking to preserve their marriages are helped to reconcile that relationship. We respect each couple’s decision-making process and work with them to foster greater harmony and respect, whatever decisions they may make about their lives together.
We offer individual counseling for adolescents and children. Work with parents, especially for younger children, is an essential part of the treatment. Family therapy is also available when appropriate. Go back to our
HOME page and click on the “Children, Teens, and Parents” heading for more information.
The Four County Counseling Center’s Foundation goals are to assist people with treatment needs, fund staff scholarships, pay for training of community emergency personnel, and help with facility improvements.

The Center’s psychologists do psychological testing in connection with court proceedings, vocational assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Sometimes problems can be resolved in just a few sessions. More often it takes longer to effect lasting change. Counseling sessions ordinarily last 45-50 minutes and are usually held once a week. The average number of sessions people are seen at 4CCC is 12, but this number is not particularly meaningful because the needs of different clients vary so widely.
Psychological testing:
Provides additional information that complements the psychiatric history and mental status exam. These tests can characterize psychological symptoms as well as describe personality and motivations. Neuropsychological tests assess cognitive abilities and can assist in characterizing impaired brain function.
Psychiatric testing is:
A clinical evaluation and assessment of a patient including psychiatric history, medical history, family history, social history, developmental history, mental status, thought processes, and cognitive evaluation. This evaluation is done to determine a diagnosis for management and treatment with medications.
4CCC is nationally accredited and undergoes rigorous outside reviews of its clinical and business operations every three years in order to maintain this accreditation. An outside audit of finances is performed every year. 4CCC’s board carefully oversees its operations and set policies to ensure high integrity of service and operation.

Why do people not seek treatment? Dictionary.com defines stigma as a mark of shame or discredit. Since mental illnesses are health diagnoses, doesn’t it seem absurd that people may not seek treatment because of what others think? Or won’t go for help because they have been raised to believe that it’s a sign of weakness? Imagine someone with cancer not getting the care she needs because of stigma. Now THAT”S crazy. | ||
