Here are some of the positions held by staff who work directly with people who are in treatment:


Psychiatrists

Psychiatrists are medical doctors who specialize in dealing with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental and emotional disorders. Their role includes:
  • Conducting psychiatric assessments and determine diagnosis
  • Reviewing and approving treatment goals and objectives
  • Conducting individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy
  • Conducting medication evaluations
  • Prescribing medication
  • Consulting with other professionals
  • Assessing for abuse and neglect
  • Providing emergency services

Advanced Practice Nurses
An APN is a nurse with a minimum of a Masters Degree in Nursing and who has prescriptive authority. An APN also:
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and determine diagnosis
  • Conduct individual, couples, group, and family counseling
  • If certified to do so, they conduct play therapy
  • Perform medication evaluations
  • Prescribe medication
  • Consult with other professionals
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services

Psychologists
Psychologists have a doctorate degree in psychology and function as primary therapists who provide individual, couples, group, and family psychotherapy. In addition, they:
  • Conduct initial assessments;
  • Conduct psychological assessments, diagnostics, and testing
  • Develop and implement treatment plans goals and objectives
  • Review and approve treatment goals and objectives
  • Conducting case reviews and case management
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services.

Social Workers
Social Workers function as primary therapists to provide individual, group and family therapy. In addition, they:
  • Conduct initial assessments with preliminary diagnostics
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments
  • Develop and implementing treatment goals and objectives
  • Conduct individual, couples, group, and family psychotherapy
  • Conduct case reviews and case management
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services

Masters Level Therapists
A master level therapist is a therapist with a masters degree in something other than social work or nursing. They may have studied psychology, sociology, or counseling. They function as primary therapists to provide individual, couples, group, and family therapy.
  • Conduct initial assessments with preliminary diagnosis
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments
  • Developing and implementing treatment goals and objectives
  • Conduct case reviews and case management
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services

Nurses
Nurses may function as primary care givers to provide individual, group and family focused services. They:
  • Conduct initial assessments
  • Develop and implement treatment goals and objectives
  • Deliver medication and other treatment as directed
  • Transcript orders and order medication through pharmacies;
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Assist with movement of client through continuum of care as indicated by treatment needs
  • Provide individual, group, and family education sessions
  • Provide emergency services

Community Mental Health Workers / Mental Health Workers
MHWs function as care givers to provide individual, group and family focused services. In addition, they:
  • Assist in the admissions process
  • Aid in implementing treatment goals and objectives
  • Assist with movement of client through continuum of care as indicated by treatment plan needs
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services

Case Managers
Case Managers function as primary care givers to provide individual, group and family focused services. They do so by:
  • Conducting case management assessments
  • Providing direct service case management for consumers and their families
  • Develop and implement treatment goals and objectives
  • Assist with movement of client through continuum of care as indicated by treatment needs
  • Conduct case reviews
  • Assess for abuse and neglect
  • Provide emergency services

We also have several positions in our Business Office, Health Information Department, Environmental Services, and Administration.
